How to read and compare a live streaming quote in Taipei
What should a live streaming quote include?
A good quote breaks the job into line items so you can see what you are paying for. If you get one lump sum labeled “live stream, one session,” ask for the breakdown before you compare it with anyone else.
The market range is wide. PRO360’s 2026 data puts a live streaming team at NT$12,000-70,000 per session: NT$12,000-28,000 for one camera, NT$30,000-38,000 for two and NT$42,000-48,000 for three. Our Taipei price guide has the full market table.
The 12 line items, and what each one costs
| # | Line item | What it covers | Typical cost or what to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cameras and operators | One operator per camera, plus the camera, lens and tripod | PRO360: 1 camera NT$12,000-28,000, 3 cameras NT$42,000-48,000 per session (whole stream) |
| 2 | Director / switcher | The person who cuts between cameras and slides | PRO360 lists directors at NT$2,000-15,000 per session for video shoots |
| 3 | Encoder | The hardware or software that turns the program into a stream | Ask if there is a second encoder as a backup |
| 4 | Audio engineer | Mixing microphones, the venue PA and laptop audio | PRO360 lists audio technicians at NT$8,000-20,000 per shift |
| 5 | Internet line + backup | A wired or dedicated line, plus 4G/5G or a second line | Backup systems (encoder, network, power) run about 15-30% of the total, per 風紅影像 |
| 6 | Platform setup | YouTube, Facebook, a webinar tool or a private player | Each extra platform needs its own output; paid platforms are billed separately |
| 7 | Graphics and lower-thirds | Name titles, logos, slides, countdowns | Ask who makes them and by when you must send files |
| 8 | Recording / ISO | A program recording, and ideally each camera recorded separately | Ask what files you receive and when |
| 9 | Rehearsal and site visit | Venue check, the day-before setup, a test stream | 風紅影像: a one-hour event needs about 6-8 hours of crew time on site |
| 10 | Overtime | Hours beyond the quoted shift | Some teams count a shift as 9 hours and 9-12 hours as 1.5 shifts (風紅影像) |
| 11 | Travel | Transport and accommodation outside the city | Usually extra for jobs outside the vendor’s home area |
| 12 | Insurance | Equipment and liability cover | Ask whether the venue requires proof, and who is responsible for what |
You won’t see all twelve on every quote. A one-hour single-camera webinar may combine items 1-4 under one technician. A three-camera conference should list each of them.
Red flags in a cheap live stream quote
The cheapest quotes are rarely cheaper versions of the same service. They usually leave something out. 風紅影像 describes the bottom of the market, around NT$10,000, as a phone or single camera on a free platform, and does not recommend it for formal corporate events.
Watch for:
- No backup internet. Shared venue Wi-Fi is a single point of failure, and it slows down as the room fills with phones.
- No one on audio. Viewers forgive a soft image. They leave when they can’t hear.
- One person doing everything. Operating a camera, switching and watching the stream at once means nobody is watching the stream.
- No local recording. If the platform fails, you have nothing.
- Hours that only cover the show. Setup and testing take hours before doors open.
- Vague extras. 風紅影像 notes that on-the-day additions (another camera, another platform, overtime, captions) can push the final bill up 20-30%. Agree prices for likely extras in advance.
Questions to ask every live streaming company
Send the same list to each vendor so the answers line up:
- How many cameras and operators, and is the director a separate person?
- Who handles audio, and how do you take sound from the venue’s mixer?
- What is the main internet line, what is the backup, and do you test both before the event?
- Do you have a backup encoder and backup power?
- Which platforms are included, and can you stream to two at once?
- Who builds the lower-thirds and slides, and what is the file deadline?
- Do you record locally, and do we get each camera as a separate file?
- When do you arrive, and is a rehearsal or test stream included?
- What does overtime cost per hour, and when does it start?
- Are travel, parking and meals included?
- Do you carry insurance, and can you provide documents the venue asks for?
- If something fails during the stream, what is the plan, and who decides?
If a vendor answers these quickly and in writing, that tells you a lot about how the event day will go. The step-by-step side of it is in how to live stream an event.
What our live stream packages include
Our live streaming packages are priced as a whole job, and each one covers the items that cheap quotes skip. All prices are NT$ before 5% tax:
| Package | Half day (≤4 hrs) | Full day (≤8 hrs) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 camera | 28,000 – 35,000 | 40,000 – 48,000 |
| 2-3 cameras + director | 50,000 – 65,000 | 70,000 – 85,000 |
| 4+ cameras or LED wall | custom, from 90,000 | custom, from 90,000 |
| Hybrid / Zoom add-on | 12,000 – 18,000 | 12,000 – 18,000 |
Every stream runs on a wired line plus a 5G backup, and we record locally as well. Overtime after 8 hours is NT$3,000-3,500 per hour per camera. We cover Taipei and New Taipei, and quote travel elsewhere separately. Bigger jobs go to vetted partner crews, and we stay your single contact.
If remote speakers join by Zoom or Teams, see hybrid events and our hybrid Zoom setup guide. For a written price for your date, use the quote builder or compare all packages on the pricing page.
Common questions
Why do two live stream quotes for the same event differ so much?
Usually because they are not quoting the same thing. One may include a director, an audio engineer, a backup line and a rehearsal, while the other is one person with one camera. Ask each vendor to price the same line items before you compare totals.
How many crew does a live stream need?
PRO360 notes that on-site live productions usually run with 3-5 people: director, camera operators, a streaming technician and a sound engineer. A small single-camera stream can work with fewer, but someone still needs to watch the stream and the audio at all times.
How many hours of crew time does a one-hour live stream take?
More than you think. 風紅影像 estimates a one-hour event needs about 6-8 hours of crew time on site for setup, testing, the event and teardown. Check that the quote's hours cover setup, not just the show.
Should the live stream also be recorded?
Yes. A local recording on site is your copy if the platform drops the stream, and it is the source for highlights and clips afterwards. We record locally on every stream.
Can a live stream quote also cover Zoom or Teams for remote speakers?
Yes, but it is a separate line item because remote speakers need a return feed and their own audio. Our hybrid / Zoom add-on is NT$12,000-18,000 before 5% tax.
