Why live streaming costs more than recording

A recording can be fixed in the edit. A live stream can't. Crews charge for a director to switch cameras, an engineer to manage encoding and internet, backup connections, and the risk of something failing in front of an audience. That is why a single-camera stream usually costs about twice as much as a single-camera recording.

What changes the price

Number of cameras, since each one usually adds an operator. Hours on site, with overtime usually billed per hour after 4 or 8 hours. Audio complexity: panels with many microphones need a sound engineer. Internet conditions at the venue. And delivery: edited highlights, subtitles and rush turnaround are often billed separately.

How to compare quotes

Ask every vendor to quote the same thing: hours, number of cameras, whether a director is included, backup internet, what files you receive and when, and whether editing and subtitles are included. A cheap quote often leaves out backup internet or audio, and those are what fail.

Our prices

We list our own packages publicly. They sit inside the market ranges above and include backup internet on every stream, plus English and Chinese subtitles on every clip.
