Live streaming a wedding in Taiwan: cost, setup and what to ask the venue
Why couples in Taiwan live stream their wedding
Most couples stream because someone important can’t be there. Grandparents who can’t travel, relatives overseas, friends stuck abroad for work: a live stream lets them watch the vows and the toasts as they happen.
It matters most for international couples. When one partner’s family lives in Europe, the US or elsewhere in Asia, often only a few people can fly to Taiwan. The stream becomes a second venue.
Watch the time difference. A 6:30 p.m. banquet in Taipei is 3:30 a.m. in Los Angeles in summer. Keep a recording so people can watch later.
How much does it cost to live stream a wedding in Taiwan?
Market rates for wedding video in Taiwan run about NT$10,000-60,000 per wedding, according to quotes collected by PRO360. The price depends on how many ceremonies are filmed and how many cameras you book:
| What is filmed | 1 camera (NT$) | 2+ cameras (NT$) |
|---|---|---|
| One ceremony or one banquet | 10,000-20,000 | 20,000-40,000 |
| Ceremony + banquet | 15,000-25,000 | 25,000-40,000 |
| Morning ceremony + evening banquet | 20,000-30,000 | 30,000-45,000 |
| Engagement + wedding ceremonies + banquet | 20,000-30,000 | 30,000-60,000 |
| Same-day edit shown at the banquet | — | 15,000-30,000 |
Published wedding live stream prices are rare. A 2021 PRO360 article put a 1-3 camera wedding stream at roughly NT$18,000-25,000. That figure is a few years old and usually doesn’t include backup internet, so ask when comparing.

Why a wedding live stream costs more than a recording
A recording can be fixed in the edit. A live stream can’t. If the stream fails, the family abroad sees a frozen screen, so a stream needs an encoder, a reliable connection, a backup, and someone watching the output the whole time.
Every stream we run uses a wired line plus a 5G backup, and we record locally as well. If the internet drops, your recording doesn’t. Our live streaming service page explains the setup, and the step-by-step streaming guide covers the technical side.
Is a wedding videographer worth it?
If you can only afford one, most couples in Taiwan pick a photographer first, because photos are easy to share and retouch. But photos don’t keep sound. The vows, a father’s speech, the laughter during the toasts: only video keeps those.
A quick way to decide:
- Family can’t attend → live stream (you get the recording too).
- You care about hearing the vows, speeches and the farewell to your parents → book video.
- Simple wedding, tight budget → photographer plus one highlight film.
A stream recording is a full, fixed-camera record, not an edited wedding film. For an edited piece, add a highlight film or clips through our editing service.
How a wedding stream works at a Taiwan banquet venue
A traditional Taiwanese wedding can have four parts: the engagement ceremony (文定), the groom fetching the bride (迎娶), the wedding ceremony (證婚) and the banquet (喜宴). Streams usually cover the ceremony and banquet, when everyone is in one hall and the schedule is fixed. The morning parts happen at home or on the move, so they suit recording better.
A typical banquet stream:
- 2-3 hours before the banquet: we set up cameras, test the internet, and go over the run sheet with the emcee and the venue’s sound tech.
- 30 minutes before: the stream goes live with a countdown or photos so family abroad can join early.
- Entrance and ceremony: the main camera covers the stage. We take audio straight from the venue’s mixer so the vows are clear.
- Speeches, cake, table toasts: one camera holds the stage. Following the couple between tables needs a second camera.
- Before guests leave: a thank-you slide, the stream ends, and the recording is prepared for delivery.
How to keep the stream private
Use a YouTube Unlisted stream. Anyone with the link can watch, but it won’t appear in search or on your channel. Private streams only work for invited Google accounts, which tends to lock out older relatives.
Share the link a week ahead in your family group chat or as a QR code on the invitation, then remind people on the day. Leave the video up afterwards so people in other time zones can catch up.
Wedding video timeline
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 3-6 months before | Ask the venue if streaming is allowed and if there is wired internet. Request a quote. |
| 1 month before | Confirm the run sheet, which parts to stream, and whether to add a photographer or film |
| 1-2 weeks before | Create the stream link and share it with family |
| 1 week before | Confirm load-in time and the audio feed with the venue, emcee and sound tech |
| Wedding day | We arrive early, set up and test before going live |
| After | Edited video within 5 working days, photos within 3 |
Six questions to ask your wedding venue
- Can we live stream in the hall? Is there a fee?
- Is there a wired internet port, and how far is it from the stage?
- Can the sound desk give us an audio feed from the mixer?
- What is the earliest time vendors can set up?
- Where can cameras go without blocking guests or walkways?
- Are there power limits or forms to fill in first?
Sort these out early and the day runs much more smoothly. See the weddings page for the full list of what we bring.
Common questions
Can strangers find our wedding live stream?
Not if you set the YouTube stream to Unlisted. Only people with the link can watch, and it won't appear in search or on your channel.
Do we get a recording of the live stream?
Yes. We record locally on site during every stream, so you get the full file even if the internet drops. An edited highlight film is a separate add-on.
Do we need a full day if we only stream the banquet?
No. A ceremony and banquet usually fit in 4 hours, so a half-day package works. If you also want the engagement ceremony or the morning bride pickup, plan for a full day.
Can you work at a wedding outside Taipei?
Our standard area is Taipei and New Taipei. Weddings elsewhere in Taiwan are quoted separately to cover travel.
Do you speak English with family members?
Yes. We work in English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean, which helps when one side of the family doesn't speak Mandarin.
