How much does short-form video production cost in Taiwan? (2026)
What does a short-form video cost in Taiwan?
It depends on whether you pay for editing only or for the whole process. Editing a clip from footage you already have is cheap. Planning, scripting and shooting each clip from scratch is where costs climb.
| Model | What you get | Typical price (NT$) |
|---|---|---|
| Editing only, basic | Clips put in order, no music or effects (30-60 sec) | 1,000 – 2,000 per clip |
| Editing only, advanced | Music, sound effects, animated captions, color | 2,000 – 7,000 per clip |
| Full-service agency (代操) | Planning, shooting and editing | 8,000 – 15,000 per video, often ~30 minimum |
| Taipei Media clips | Cut from an event or podcast we film, EN + 中文 subtitles | 1,600 – 2,000 per clip; 5 for 8,000 – 10,000 |

Editing only vs shoot and edit
Editing only suits you if you already film: webinars, talks, product demos, podcasts. You send the files, the editor finds the moments, reframes to vertical and adds captions. Per-clip prices stay low because nobody is on location.
Shoot and edit suits brands with nothing to cut from. Each clip needs an idea, a script, a shoot slot and an edit, so the cost per clip is several times higher. Agencies offering this as 短影音代操 often bundle posting and reporting too.
A middle path is to film one longer piece of content on purpose and cut many clips from it. That is what our clips and editing service is built for.
What adds to the price per clip?
- Subtitles. PRO360 lists subtitling at NT$500-1,200 per minute. For bilingual audiences in Taiwan, check whether both Chinese and English are included.
- Motion graphics. Animated titles, zooms and on-screen text move a clip from the basic to the advanced price band.
- Revisions. Most plans include 1-2 rounds of changes, per PRO360.
- Rush delivery. PRO360 says rush surcharges are often 20-50% of the edit price.
- Music. Ask whether the music is licensed for how you will use the clip, especially if you plan to run it as a paid ad.
Monthly retainer or one-off?
A monthly retainer makes sense when you have a posting schedule and someone in-house who approves content every week. Business Next describes full-service agencies charging NT$8,000-15,000 per episode with a minimum of around 30 episodes, which is a NT$240,000-450,000 commitment.
A one-off batch makes sense when content comes in bursts: a conference, a launch, a trade show, a podcast season. You pay for the shoot and a set of clips, then post them over the following weeks.
How to get many clips out of one event or podcast shoot
The cheapest clip is the one cut from footage you were filming anyway. One recording session can feed a month of posts if you plan for it:
- Record clean audio. Clips with poor sound get skipped. Each speaker should have their own microphone.
- Frame for vertical. Ask the crew to leave room above and around speakers so a 9:16 crop works.
- Plan the moments. Ask speakers for a strong opinion, a number, or a short story. Those make the best 30-60 second clips.
- Record a few standalone takes. After the event, a 10-minute session of short answers to camera gives you hooks you can post on their own.
- Note timestamps. Write down good moments during the event so the editor finds them fast.
For example, our podcast / interview session (two cameras, up to four mics, lights, up to two hours, edited episode) is NT$8,000-12,000. Add five subtitled clips for NT$8,000-10,000 and you have one full episode plus five Reels or Shorts for NT$16,000-22,000 before 5% tax. How to set up the room is covered in our video podcast setup guide.
At events, the same logic applies: a recording or live stream from our Taipei event video price guide can be cut into clips the same week. Edited video arrives within 5 working days.

Common questions
How much does it cost to edit one Reel or Short in Taiwan?
PRO360 lists 30-60 second short videos at NT$1,000-2,000 for a straightforward edit and NT$2,000-7,000 for complex edits with effects, animated captions and color grading. Filming is billed separately.
Are subtitles included in short video pricing?
Often not. PRO360 lists subtitling at NT$500-1,200 per minute of video, more if there is no transcript. Our clips include burned-in English and Chinese subtitles in the NT$1,600-2,000 price.
How many revisions are included?
PRO360 notes that standard editing plans usually include 1-2 rounds of changes and charge for more. Agree the number of revisions before the edit starts.
Is a monthly retainer cheaper than paying per clip?
Only if you will really use the volume. A full-service agency at NT$8,000-15,000 per video with a 30-video minimum, as described by Business Next, is a commitment of about NT$240,000-450,000. Cutting clips from shoots you already do is far cheaper per clip.
How fast can short clips be delivered?
Our edited video is delivered within 5 working days, or within 48 hours for +20%. PRO360 notes that rush fees on the wider market are often 20-50% of the edit price.
